Feeling Romantic?

Here's a few tips for those of you who feel a bit romantic:

Places
  • Monteliusvägen - path at the hights of Södermalm, with a beautiful view over Riddarfjärden, Kungsholmen, City Hall and Gamla Stan - where many people have purposed over the years.
  • Kina slott - Asian inspired "lust" castle by Drottningholm. Under a lot of hush hush, our King Adolf Fredrik built a castle for Queen Lovisa Ulrika on her birthday in the 1750's.
  • Stadshusets gård - The court of City Hall shuts out all the noises of the city, and the garden by the water with its sculptures and view makes this a beautiful place to be. Take a walk along Norr Mälarstrand afterwards!
  • Sandhamn - Listed as one of the most romantic places in the entire world by the magazine Travel and Leisure. The hotel has warm outside pools where you can get cozy. Perfect for a wknd.
  • Ekotemplet in Hagaparken - During the summer the wedding couples literly stand in line to get married here. Go there on a Saturday, with a blanket, and see all the newlyweds pass by.
Restaurants
  • Cloud Nine - They have an actual Dessert room with a 3-course-meal with JUST desserts.
  • Brasserie Le Rouge - Paris, Burlesque and lots of red velvet. This place screams romance.
  • Gondolen - Elegant classic-Stockholm-place with a luxuary menue and the famous view over Slussen which will give you butterflies in your stomache. Book early!
  • Il Tempo - At Il Tempo it feels like you walked right into one of the Godfather movies. Bloody steaks and Italian food at a local restaurant on Södermalm. One of Stieg Larsson's movies was filmed here.
Cafés
  • Flickorna Helin & Voltaire - One of my personal favorite cafés. It's in a castle-like building, secluded on Djurgården. Really cozy! Perfect place to bring a date!
  • Blå porten - Greek-inspired achitecture in the middle of a garden. Designed for long hours of hanging out. Lots of good desserts, cakes, buns etc. Popular on weekends!
  • Fåfängan - Garden café on Södermalm that has been a romantic destination since the 1700-hundreds with on of the best views of Stockholm. The wknd-brunch is a good suggestion!
